    Well hello there :)

Hi guys and gals, my name is harts and I come from SA.

I have just purchased an Oct 2014 delivered Polo GTI for my partner and myself. I come from a long background of modified Japanese cars, my last being a 10000RPM, 320wkw Nissan Stagea with a 2.6lt Tomei RB25.

Unfortunately I am too old for ridiculous cars anymore, and considering my partner has only just acquired her Learner's (at 28...), it was time for something more suitable that we could share (one inner city carpark at our place).

So here I am, looking forward to the experience to come and definitely not going to modify the car... well maybe just a little.

    Harts.

Welcome to the forum - that Nissan sounds like a bit of a weapon.

There's a group of us that get together every month or so - check out the events section for upcoming times/dates if you're interested.

Thanks Tigger, I work away from home, so it can be difficult for me to catch events, but I will try

The Nissan was a weapon, that dyno figure was recorded on a dyno called 'the heartbreaker' (Jaustech) with semi slicks on so it was a very modest number. It felt like driving the Millennium Falcon

No reason why you can't get respectable power from the Polo to keep your better half happy.

Here's some specs on a 1990's MK2 Golf but I'd hate to think how much it cost. The owner also has a Bugatti Veyron and a 1800hp GTR and the Golf is the quickest.

Wow, quite a quick little thing!

No no, I won't be aiming for any more power out of this one, it's a slippery slope. I spent more money on my last engine build than I did on this 6 month old Polo GTI. Not including bolt-ons. Or anything else unrelated to the engine bay. I don't think I'll be heading down that road again for a long time

I am just going to be happy this time... except for wheels, suspension and a shallow mount, small subwoofer :p
