Worked as a VW tech, way back in the 1960s after my military service. Returned to VW for personal use in 2006. Since then, an 02 Jetta/TDI, an 06 JSW/TDI, a '12 JSW/TDI and sadly stuck now w/ a 2016 GSW/TSI. Love the ride(s) not so much the "doo-daddy" electronics.
Clearly, HERE is one of two best places to goto for info, as most techs at US dealers are little more than "parts replacers" w/ no technical skill beyond wiping a dipstick. For example, Suction Pump Campaign… drive away, get to gas station, fill her up… only to discover analog gas gauge is STUCK ON 1/2 TANK along /w MFD "miles-to-go" frozen @ 176.
Welcome to the forum.
I suggest you get yourself a MK1 or MK2 golf then you never have to worry about the "doo-daddy" electronics. When the fuel gauge is stuck in half way you hit it and it behaves normally. On my MK1 MFD stands for More Fun Driving.
