Van Shudder

Hi Everyone, I’m a newbie with my first post. I’m hopeful someone can help with a problem with my 2005 T5 1.9 TDI Transporter Crew van.

The engine, power and steering is fine. Recently the van has developed a shudder right through the vehicle which Is gradually getting worse. The shudder is the same you get when travelling with a window open. I thought it may have been the tyres so I replaced the two front tyres which made no difference.

Before I take it the VW service department I am wondering if anyone might have an idea what it may be.

Could be the dual-mass flywheel. Could be the front engine mount. Hard to say really.
