Hi Everyone
I found this site because I was looking for information about a transmission issue my 2017 Tiguan R-Line has. I bought the car late 2017 in Wollongong and loved it. I always felt the gear changing was a bit juvenile ( not smooth and very noticeable), but I had no reason to think it was a problem. Until now!
I had the water pump replaced last year as well as it was a ' known issue' too!
It wouldn't be so bad having these problems if VW had better customer service, but aggravating people seems to be the policy!
Having said that, the dealer advised that VW will cover the cost of the part ($2000) but not the labour ($526) as it is out of warranty.
I am curious to find out what others think of this offer given transmission failure is a ' known issue' in this model and given there is a major class action in the USA for the same issue in the 2022 model and I was advised to only drive the car if absolutely necessary, until the part comes in in about 3 weeks or so.
Cheers
Jo
