TDI420 2017 Amarok Radio Head Unit issues

    Hi All,
Anyone having issues with their head unit playing up? I have a late 2017 Amarok and half the touch screen doesn't work and sometimes the buttons are unresponsive. Been thinking about getting a second hand unit and fitting it myself but don't know if plug and play or need to program... Bluetooth etc?

The digitizers are the most common failure.
You can get a complete replacement screen/LCD/digitizer, or you can get the digitizer itself and replace but it's a sticky messy job and risks cracking the LCD.
Have heard, never seen that some people are sticking a new digitizer over the top of the old one and plugging that in. No experience with this myself so can't comment on it's effectiveness.
You can't swap in a second hand unit without handling Component Protection and restoring the FEC licenses. Needs dealer tools with online access.
Or a patched unit which defeats CP.

Thanks for the reply, any ideas on where to get the digitiser? Also sometime the buttons don't work bit other times they do, e.g. am/fm button
