Hi Guys
I am new to this forum and would like some help with finding some information in relation to a compatible gearbox.
I have a 2002 Transporter T4 powered by a 2.5TDI. The transmission is an auto and has died. I am looking at replacing it as opposed to spending $6k to recondition. The issue is how do I find what gearbox is compatible to bolt straight in? I have heard that the manual boxes were just a little more reliable, so that may be a good option.
Does anybody know if there are product code numbers on the box and can I refer them to some compatibility list? (ie what engine goes with what transmission etc)
Your help is much appreciated.
