H and welcome, Im also from the Sunny Coast (M'Dore).
Ive noticed that there are ALOT of Vdubs on the coast
When I was chasing a Module I ended up getting one from the UK as it was way cheaper.
Hello fellow forum members... Quick hello.
Im new here have a few Vdubs t3,t4 type 3 coupe and just recently a 02 Passat for the wife.
Im actually looking for a abs module to suit it, I did a repair on the module in it but after a pot hole my solder joint has obviously come loose again and the ABS and Flashing red brake warning light have come back.
Im sure this site is a wealth of information..
Cheers

Hey thanks for the reply... Yeh there are a few VWs around. Your not fare away at all.
ABS module is all good.. I pulled it out and took apart again, but this time I soldered a new copper wire in instead of resoldering the 2 silver wires that had cracked.
Seems good so fare... New head ack tho... Just ironing out a few bugs (only got the car RWC yesterday) seems to have developed a random misfire on the way home today and has a hesitation in high gear low revs and under load.
Ive just checked over the car and found dumb me hadnt done the battery terminals up. Also there is no accual clamp arrangement to hold the battery down so the battery can move a little from side to side and back and forth. Im guessing this is why the problem was random... I donno will clean and tighten up the battery terminals and see how it is in the morning for the drive to work.
Also I bought a lead off ebay to hook the car up to my laptop to diagnose codes etc.. so hopefully that will tell me something.. Its is spose to turn up tomorrow fingers crossed.
I have VCDS cable too and VAG-Tacho can save a few $$. We had a few faults when we got this 2004 Polo but cleared all faults then rescanned as the faults were related to a flat battery it had from previous owner and checked out fine. I installed remote locking as this model didnt have it, just a pain trying to get up behind the dash, but all good
Best buy the clamps to hold the battery down as well as things wont go well if you have to stop in a hurry.
They are there for a reason

Thanks for everyones reply....
Well this is kinda turning into the car from hell... hopefully it will settle down.. just seems like everything i do another problem comes up.
First off it was the water heater been bypassed so pulled the hole dash and replaced that and all the vent doors etc.
Then the engine issues... It runs beautifully but on light throttle the revs surge and a random spark misfire on 1/3 coil. Now I thought it would be best to service the transmission so put a filter and new gasket and did the filling steps... I was just finishing doing up the filler plug and was like what the F*&K is that... tranny oil WTF they had given me a rubber gasket that is just useless at sealing... so off with the pan and a geniun paper filter goes in... another $100 of tranny oil and I was back where I started... about to put the filler bug back in then all of a sudden pppppshhhhhh then all this coolant flowing down over the alternator.. I thought get F*^k*d.
So now I found that the Thermostat housing and o ring is shagged... Whats worse the guy a bought the car from has already had the timing belt and water pump done. I thought I really dont want to pull the front of the vehicle apart again so I thought Id have a go at changing the housing and TS and oring without removing the timing belt... so took the top cover off, fan belt and fan belt tension to get lower cover off.
Got all the bolts out for the housing but there was no way to pull it out unless the timing belt was removed. I thought Id give it one more go and thought Id slackened off and the belt, slid over half way on the tentioner and cam gear without moving any notches on the belt but unfortunately I think the cam has skipped a tooth or 2 so now im waiting on the ts housing etc and researching how to check the cam timing so i can be sure when I put it back together.
How did you go with it so far ?
I'ld hate to have problems like that.
I would hate to take apart a VW, you have a manual for it ?
