I have been a Peugeot owner for years (currently 504, 405, 406) and am looking to buy a new car next year. Peugeot, of course, is a favourite, either the 308 or 508, but I am also considering something from the VW range, probably a Golf or Passat, or even the Skoda equivalent. I have always had diesels and that is still my preference but the current lot of small efficient petrol engines make the choice not as easy as it was in the past. I know Peugeots but am a bit in the dark with VW, so I am here to learn so that I can make an informed decision when the time comes.

I am retired and live in Goolwa, SA, about 90km from Adelaide. We have family in Adelaide so most of my driving is between here and there at 100 km/hr with the odd interstate trip thrown in.
