QLD - Waiting for arrival of my new mk7 Golf R at month end

    Hey All,

After a long period of back and forth trying to choose between an S3 and a Golf R I made the RIGHT decision!

It's Blue. Other than leather, it's a standard 2014 build, MY15 2015 delivery. It's got no Km's. And it is due to be mine by the end of the month!

    Very excited.

At the same time after many years a Subie Boxer fan (and active on WRX, Forester and Liberty forums), and having just cancelled our Macan order (too long a wait for too expensive a car), I am very apprehensive about owning a VW for the first time. I will admit to owning an Octavia RS for 11 months a few years back, but that doesn't count.

Also, there are bets on (a) how long it will be before I start modding the car and (b) how long I will keep it. The former because I can't help myself with turbo cars, and the latter...well history is against me on this one as I have had over 20 cars in 20 years. I plan to make it (at least) to the end of the warranty period!

Anyway - I look forward to meeting many of you around going forward.

    FJ

    Welcome to the forums mate.
There are a bunch of R owners in Queensland who tag along at our events.
We also have spectune and APR for go fast bits.

Hope to see you at some of our events.

Thanks - I have had an APR tune before from Michael at Coorparoo on my Octavia RS - he always raved about the Golf R.

I liked going to the Subie meets, but now have rug rats so we will see!

Well we have happy laps every second month or so and we have a hard park/cruise every second month or so.
Kids are welcome, not like we are going to exclude you.

Hi FJ. You have made the right choice. I was in the same boat and love my car. Enjoy
