    Hi Gavin
still pondering, been going through the conversions on different forums, but still not sure the best way to go.
I still haven't found the gearbox model in the polo so not sure if I can use it.
Also the subframe, mount and brackets decision is unclear. I guess I've read so many, I'm not sure what goes together anymore.

i happy to keep the hydronic clutch and polo/mk4 golf gear change,
i'm ill work it out but strewth it can be a mind field

cheers for your interest, I'll let you know about the ecu immo when I get to working on the mk2.

The gearbox is 02R. Not sure that they have been used before. Most folk tend to use a diesel mk3 gearbox and a well uprated clutch.

I very much doubt the subframe will be any use you.

    Hey mate,

Price for both boot struts, control arms - what colour is it? Could do with panels. Possibly LHR door lock if it's not too hard to remove. Are you keeping the shifter towers and cables etc? PM me if it's easier

Live had the mk2 as a daily for about 5 years, joy of a car to drive and just love the styling of the mk2
if vw were to do a retro, the mk2 should be the base. Just my opinion.
