    Polo 2010

Car: 2010 VOLKSWAGEN POLO 77 TSI COMFORTLINE 6R

I am not a car enthusiast and therefore don't really know much about cars, but I am looking to try and find out more about this car (and maintenance required) as I have been using it as a car to Uber in. In the last 14 months I have done 75,000 KM, prior to this the car had only done 50,000 KMs in its first five years. I enjoy driving it and most of my passengers enjoy the ride it gives.

As the KMs are mounting I am worried what major servicing this car needs. This is my main aim of joining this forum.

They have a timing chain, so no costly belt changes. Majors are every 60,000kms (including DSG) so you should have already done one. Minors are every 15,000kms.

DSG services can be pretty expensive, but your next one should be due until 120k. If your car was recalled for the mechatronics, it was probably done as part of the recall.

Thanks for your reply Craig. Just to be clear, my odometer is at 125,000 KMs. I did 75,000 KMs in one year (last year).

Yes the car has a recall sticker, with recall code '35C1', dated 7th Nov 2013.

My Polo is a 7 speed DSG. According to other threads on this forum (e.g. 7 speed DSG service?), it is suggested that the 7 speed DSG doesn't need servicing. I was suprised when you mentioned it as it is not mentioned in the service manual (as far as I can see).
