    noob passat melb

Missus just purchased a used 2011 passat wagon, 118tsi.

90,000km's - had the mechatronics replaced mid 2016. Just noticed it has a slight shudder upon takeoff gears 1-2. Mechanic noted this at last service 4 months ago.

After a quick google i realise this is extremely common (should've avoided the dsg like the plague ).

Are VW likely to replace this again given it's out of warranty? Seems a bit ridiculous they can replace a part due to a recall and try to charge you two years on when it fails again...?

    Any advice much appreciated!

It sounds like you have clutch judder so your DSG will now require a clutch pack. See if VW will do a good will gesture.

    Thanks Mick, appreciate the response!

Does anyone in Aus know if VW are likely to even consider this given it's out of warranty period and despite being serviced regularly, hasn't been getting serviced at the dealer?

Should I go to a nearby dealer or contact VW australia directly?

So I turned the 'auto hold' off and no more shudder thus far...

Could it be the brakes just gripping for to long on auto hold as I have had similar issues if my car has been parked up for a few days, worse if it’s been raining.
