Hi all, first post on here, I'm Joe I own a 2002 S3 8L (black) bought stock in June 2014

Dream car: RS4 B5 (In case anyone feels like selling me one)
Currently have a badger 5 intake updated PCV system (forge) and some minor cosmetic things.
sigma short shift on the way
looking to get a downpipe and front mount soon could use your advice, finding it hard to get stuff in Australia.
then AP coilovers and probably take it to stage 2 tune...when money is available.
Yeah for sure I was looking into the custom code tune and I think that's the way I'll go. as the APR/revo seems more expensive and not as smooth with the power delivery, plus from what I've read the fuel consumption is pretty good too. Just out of interest how much would Stage 1 be, and is there any engine modifications I should do first to handle it?
The idea with Phase 1 is that it is for standard cars. Once you change the downpipe though, to make the most of the extra flow and prevent any cat efficiency codes coming up you need Phase 2. That's the point I would introduce the FMIC to if you are going to.
If you have plans to go Phase 2 in the future, I would encourage you to leapfrog Phase 1. Even with the discount I give for the re-tune, you could nearly buy the downpipe instead.
Phase 1 $799 Phase 2 $899. Upgrade from 1 to 2 is basically done at cost but still close to $500.

I have a 42dd TT downpipe on mine. I don't know how a local shop would go about making one. I went with this as it was off the shelf and I knew it would fit well and mate to the std cat back.
I can come to work in the S3 one evening and if you can make it to the airport for 630pm. Happy to take you round the block in it.
