Newbie VW Diesel Defeat Tiguan 130TDI

    Hi

I have looked a couple of times for information on this forum.

I have driven VW's since my first car a beetle, another beetle, first Golf, and two Golfs, and three Tiguan's; I was a VW fanboy. But I think they might me losing me.

Prompted to join this forum as I am interested in everyones reactions to being the owner of a Diesel Defeat VW.

Me, I bought my 3rd Tiguan in May and was shocked to realise what VW have done.

I had been loving this car as it does so much so well; but now it feels like having a car that has been trashed by all the publicity surrounding VW admissions and disclosures about the Diesel Defeat Software.

I attempted to return the car to the dealer but they wouldn't accept it.

Sections 259-264 seem to govern this. If the vehicle has a major problem; and one of the criteria as to whether it is a major problem; is that a reasonable person knowing what they do now would not have purchased the car.

The act then goes on and states that if you have a major problem you are at liberty to return the goods and ownership reverts in the dealer, and you can choose to get a repair or a refund

Well that seems reasonable straight forward; I wouldn't have purchased; the green credentials were significant aspects.

What about you other owners of affected VW diesels

And onlookers; do you see this diesel defeat as a major problem

I think you'll find it's a 30 minute software update that gets applied and you're done.

All this will blow over in 6 months and you can go back to enjoying your car.

I think the main thing is if you're not trying to trade in/sell your car at the moment you'll be fine.

The 130TDI Tig drives really nicely and I reckon is the pick of the bunch at the moment.

I don't think that it stops anyone from enjoying their new or even older car.
