    Newbie from Sydney GTI/R/Octavia RS

    Hi all,

New to the forum. Currently have a MKV GTI.

I'm currently in the market for a new car, as we have a baby on the way and our 3 door MKV GTI sadly has to go. We're currently cross-shopping a MK7 Golf R and a new Octavia RS. I understand they aren't natural competitors, but I figure if we are going to make space compromises for the Golf, we may as well go the whole hog and get the R.

I've come here to tap into some of your knowledge- looking forward to sharing.

    Cheers
    Reece

Other solution is to buy an AWD Tiguan for $36k and spend the extra $20k on a full exhaust, stage 3 turbo upgrade and suspension.

It would out-perform both cars and be a real sleeper. APR did one of these a couple of years ago and it surprised a lot of people.
