    Thanks ope126.
Yes, it's a Dec 2015 built 118TSI Comfortline, in the silver colour.
I have just had it back to the dealer for it's first service and was surprised that they don't do an oil and filter change on that service. I may do one myself around mid-way to the 15k one though.
It had a little of the fabric trim on the drivers door start to pull away, so the changed the whole door trim for me.
It also has a miss/rough idle on cold start, until it reaches operating temp. I asked about that and the workshop supervisor sat me in another new one and got me to start and listen to it... same thing. I guess it's a VW thing. Overall... I am happy with it. It drives way better than the 2012 Hyundai i40 Premium Diesel I traded. It may not have the features of the Hyundai, but it certainly drives and performs better than it did.

Interesting about your comments about the i40.

As for the "miss/rough idle on cold start" that is well documented.
Nothing to worry about, it is just the Cold Start warm up phase that lasts for about 20sec, then it should return to a silky smooth idle.

Is that what your car is doing?

Well here we are, 8 months and a bit into the ownership of my Jetta 1.4 TSI. I love the way it drives and am satisfied with the power and torque, and the overall drivability of the vehicle.
I have had the drivers door trim replaced due to some of the fabric pulling away a little. No problems with VW Penrith. They were very helpful.
The engine miss on start up has not become any worse, however now, with 12,000km on the clock, on start up, the engine has become noisy. Again, that is only for about 10 seconds or so, but I am wondering whether the oil change period is too long being 15k or 12 months.
I haven't taken it to the dealer re that as yet and thought I should change the oil and filter to see if it makes a difference first.
    Thoughts anyone?
