    Newbie

    Hi All

Just on the weekend took ownership of a MK7.5 Golf GTI. Is my first VW and therefore my first Golf. Great little car.

Took it for a drive to Hungry Head today and grabbed a few quick pics. Quality isn't great as it was about to storm.

Great little car. Was lucky enough to find one in the exact colour we wanted.
Coming from a Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo , it is quite a change. We originally were looking at Kia Stingers, but most dealers were up around 68k, which is mental for a Kia and after driving, we found it lacking vs other cheaper cars. Deciding between the GTI and R was hard, but I love Red on Black/Grey and my gf preferred the aggressive styling of the GTI, that plus the lower price, lead us to the GTI. Under budget and now planning a trip to Hawaii.

Just gotta clear the garage of an 09 XR6T and a 10 Fiesta...

    Hey crainger

    Looks awesome!

Stay away from the Kia Stingers, apparently they're trash.

I have to say, I reckon the GTIs look the best in the Indium Grey, especially with the contrast of the red accents. So great choice.

Hi, I don't think you will regret buying the GTi...it is a delight to drive (everything Clarkson says about them is right), thats why I'm not selling my 2011 model mk6.

Reviews for the Stinger GT seem positive, but the car has no soul and is over priced despite the tech packed in. We drove the GT and we pretty impressed with what Kia had done, but at close to 70k, it's a hard sell.

Kia dealer did have a crack at us comparing the Stinger to the Golf "I don't think you know what you want". 4 doors, fun to drive and fully featured without breaking the bank. GTI fit that to a T.

Next step it some basic mods and to find a good place in Coffs Harbour for servicing and support. The local dealer has a good rep, but there are at least two VW specialists close by too...
Looking into getting the dynamic indicators installed, both tail and mirror.

Keen to find any Golf or VW clubs in Mid North Coast NSW.

Also just ordered myself an OBDEleven. Keen to get in a see what the App can do. (Hopefully I don't brick my car)

So my OBDEleven arrived. Already programmed high beam assist, Scandinavian DRLs and had a go at a manual coding so the Fogs operate with DRLs and shut off with the low beams. I'm learning German via Duo on my iPhone, so the coding is good practise.
