Skoda Superb - What a great car!
Hi all,
I bought my Skoda Superb 4x4 2.0 TDI June 2015 (B6, 3T) and haven't looked back. Super comfortable to drive, plenty of punch when needed, quiet on the road and oh so smooth through the gears.
We live in Canberra and I've also fallen love with the seat warmers. While the cold winter mornings are a fact of life, having a bad back for years makes it more compelling to use the seat warmers.
I drive a lot, close to 40,000kms a year so having a reliable, comfortable, fuel efficient (let me come back to that) car was a must. I noticed the Skoda range when I was following the Tour de France and did some research. They 'reportedly' have never had a breakdown on the road for any team vehicle during a stage since they were sponsoring the cars - good enough for me.
With all the driving I've just covered the 75000 service and was asked when I put it in the last time if I wanted the ECU recall (emission defeat) fixed. I thought about it, asked the service guy about fuel efficiencies and then decided to get it done. After so many miles driven I have a very good understanding on how much fuel I use normally, on trips and when the car is loaded with kids, wife and 'stuff' and I have to say that I reckon that the update has cost me around 15% more fuel now. Regular trips are now around 6.5l/100k while before I was more around 5.7-5.9l/100k. It's a company car now but won't be for ever so at some time I will need to whine about it.
Good to be here.
