The Nationals are held in Sydney late May. Saturday sprints at Wakefield Park, Sunday is the Show-and-Shine at Fairfield Showground.

Gives you 2 months to get your car ready.

Congrats. You know it’s going to make your hair go premature gray but you’ll be smiling the whole time.

When you get it make sure you start a thread in the MK2 section. I know Locky would love to see another black one on the forum. Did you get a good deal on shipping or are you going to pick it up?

When you've got a spare hour or two I'll tell you about when I bought mine (twice). I loved it so much I bought it back a couple of years later.

Really happy with the purchase just can't wait to get my hands on it now.

Baden the current owner has been fantastic and really helpful with everything his even going to drive it to the transport depot for me so pretty good guy.

Getting it shipped with ceva costing $570 which is pretty good I think.

Going to try coming to the second day of the Nationals with my oldest boy, his only 5 but loves cars more than me. Lol.

I had a look at Baden's old posts looking for a build thread but he never started one. He did ask lots of questions about which aftermarket cam to get so your engine might be a bit quicker than standard. Bonus.

I've got 3 boys and a girl and none of them are interested in cars. I drop the twins off at school and they always complain to their mum about how fast I drive. Of course I deny it but then my daughter took out her phone and showed the video she took over my shoulder showing the speedo sitting around 120.

Obviously I told my wife the speedo is way out.

So the new purchase is on the back of a truck and on its way up from Melbourne to Sydney.
Should have it in my hands by Wednesday so looking forward to getting my hands on it...

Not got the grill yet been bit busy but will defo get the original GTI grill back on it.
I need to find a centre console to the last owner removed it and put a delete panel in.
Any ideas where I can get one and also after original gear knob too.
