    New VW owner

    Hey guys and girls,

I found this website a few weeks ago when i was doing some research on VW's and more specifically the Bora in all it's incarnations.

I initially had my heart set on an Alfa Romeo 147 but my researched revealed some rather nasty traits of the Alfa, most of which were reliability based.

I actually came across the VW Bora whilst random searching "V6" on ebay and came across a black Bora V6 4Motion. The ebay listing included the link to a Youtube video so i decided to check it out. As soon as i heard the V6, i knew i had to have one! lol.

So to cut a long story short(actually not that short), i shopped around and made a few offers on some cars and eventually came to a deal on a Silver with black leather example in Sydney. I called the guy and made my offer. I told him, "as long as it drives like it looks, i'll buy it". It did not drive like it looked! It had been thrashed!
It would not engage 1st gear without a PHD in mechanical engineering and a $100 per week gym(steroid) program.
When i finally got it into first gear, it then refused to find reverse.
So basically i traveled over 1000km only to walk away from the car and a bit pissed off i might add.

I got picked up by an old mate from Canberra and was ready to fly home the next day when i spotted a new listing for a white with black leather example 40km outside of Canberra.
I traveled out there the next morning and bought it! I got it for the same price old mate wanted in Sydney and the second the car started, i knew it was in much better condition both mechanically and aesthetically.

So yeah! I now own a white VW Bora V6 4Motion.

Completely standard, no modifications at all.

To pass NSW rego, it will need a few things. I will start a new thread somewhere else in the forums to ask advise on what/where to buy the gear i need/want.

So i just wanted to drop in and announce myself. Hope i get many years worth of driving out of my new chariot

Welcome mate and good work! I am a enormous fan of V6 Bora's myself.

Good thing you didn't buy that 'thrashed' one, aslong as you look after the car it will look after you.. Makes me wonder why old mate wouldn't of changed out the gear oil and put in some additive to make it 'appear' smooth just to try and sell it, makes you think how stupid he was!

    Anywho, welcome to the forum!
