New to Sydney - ex-T4 camper, now with a T5 project and MY16 Golf :)

    Hi all

Will post pics when I get on my laptop, but quick intro.

Just moved from the UK with my Aussie girlfriend... Based in the Inner-West of Sydney and have just embarked on a new project...

    T5 MY07 Transporter SWB
    5 seater
1.9TDi manual, with 170k and full logbook history

Plan is to build a basic road-tripper camper setup that will sleep 2 on a double but still allow 5 seats when necessary... Just waiting for the dealer to get all the compliance paperwork to make sure it's all legit, and hope to collect it on Mondah.

This is my old camper which started as a panel van and emerged over 5 years of ownership in the UK

    1998 T4
    1.9TDi 1Z engine conversion
    Pop-too roof
Full length units and 3/4 Rock&Roll bed
    Eberspacher diesel auxiliary heating
285W Solar Charge system with MPPT controller

and this is what I've just taken responsibility for T:

    2007 Transporter SWB - 1.9TDi 102bhp/75kw
    170,000kms (c.110k miles)
1-owner from new (carpenter, so it's full of sawdust)
    Aircon
Side windows (slider-opener in the side sliding door)
    Tailgate
    Tow bar
Electric braking control system for trailer - required a bit of TLC due to the wiring being done by a baboon... now fully functional!

Dealer-order Kombi with rear 3-seater... Australia didn't get 'factory' Kombi's from what I gather, so it's an aftermarket seat but all dealer-ordered from new...

and I had to grab these little bargain beauties off Gumtree, which will be wrapped in some A/Ts when I replenish the bank balance a little... can't be having a rusty rim! I:
