As promised, here's a photo. Blurred the background as Canberra can be too small a place sometimes
Hi guys,
The forum told me I had to post in here first so here it is..
Name is Maclean and I'm in Canberra. Been involved in the car scene here since I was young, originally owned an Atlas Grey VN SS and started one of the larger all-make clubs. Graduated to a very VIP Toyota Celsior before 'growing up' and buying a very understated Ford Telstar. That broke down too often so I decided to treat myself and last week picked up an R36 wagon, details below:
Biscay Blue
3.6l V6 with 6 spd DSG and 4motion
'09 model with 31,000kms
Factory sunroof, sat nav, reverse camera, park assist etc and auto boot door - everything except the DynAudio system.
Future mods will be simple, would like some 35% tint and probably the GruppeM intake for that nice induction sound.
Absolutely love the car, just has a couple of things to sort out.. DSG paddles don't work but rest of wheel does so assuming faulty paddles and my phone sync but seems to be common with a WP7.5 phone. The 'high performance' seats are the coolest things I've sat in.
Anyways, Hi and I look forward to meeting some of you, particularly the 'R' drivers around the inner south of Canberra. Will post a picture when I grab my laptop next.

That looks stunning mate! Enjoy your stay here, if you you have any questions to ask regarding the R36 or anything for that matter feel free and don't be shy. Purely for some street cred I would say a 10-15mm drop on coilovers or lowered springs would suit this car, however it all depends on practicality.
Have you thought about coming on the cruise on the 20th? It would be good to put some names to faces.
Another hero R36 wagon aye?
Is the cruise in Canberra?
Definitely interested in meeting up with some fellow R owners so I may make the effort.
Still debating lowering it, my Celsior was a NIGHTMARE so I want to avoid driveway/parking dramas again, and I like the sleeper look of the R36.
Forgive my ignorance but, 'hero R36'?
Cheers for the welcome!
Maclean,
The cruise isn't in Canberra here are the details - VWWatercooled Annual Summer Cruise - Sun 20th January 2013
HAHA there seems to be a lot of R36 activity lately so it's good to see another one join the strong community.
Verrry nice looking ride there mate. Welcome to the forum.

Cheers for the welcome Lemonskin.
Just got a quote from tint a car, about $525 for darkest legal on cabin windows and midnight on boot windows.. Bloody expensive but that's for top of the line stuff with the best UV reflection etc..
Any wagon owners that have had a better quote?
Also looking for photos of R36s with similar tint..
Booked in Friday 1st Feb to get tint done. Due to the pretinted glass in the R36 I went with a 38%VLT which they said brings it pretty much right on the legal limit. $425 for the second most expensive one. Was $575 for the most expensive which included IR filtering as well. They said it's 3% additional heat filtering so I didn't see the value.
Well I picked up the R36 this morning. Ended up going for the most expensive tint, figured you only do it once so $150 may as well be spent..
Will put up a pick a bit later.
Downloading the maps and RNS510 upgrade to do that this weekend too, hopefully won't have too much trouble re-enabling the buttons on the steering wheel!
