New member with a Amarok dual cab

Took the leap from Toyota to VW December 23 with the purchase of a 2014 Amarok dual cab. Thankfully being mechanically minded and having always worked on my own vehicles, it wasn’t too much of a deterrent when the tensioner and serpentine went to pieces between Sydney and Bathurst on a rainy Sunday afternoon. After some serious serious serious head scratching and bewilderment regarding the process required to replace a tensioner pulley, I got over the little set back. Until all of a sudden the instant draining of the battery partnered with a parasitic leak somewhere, still, was a bit hard to deter from the 1000km a tank of diesel and the handling is second to none. After a long journey of investigating and brain picking, I’ve finally discovered that it’s indeed the trailer module unit, something I wish to hold in my hands one day and throw into the middle of a freeway somewhere. I was until now unaware of the extra miles VW went to help those who aren’t too crash hot at towing trailers. As a result, I am in for a Blue slip (roadworthy) tomorrow and all of a sudden my rear right brake light won’t come on, but is replaced with the blown globe warning on the dash instead, tested and replaced, with a spare freshy at home; tested the harness and it is not getting a drop of power when brakes are depressed. Parker’s and left brake light work fine. My main question is, is there a possibility other than hot wiring my RH brake bulb into the left, to bypass the worlds worst invention? Just in the mean time so it’ll pass the blue slip and it won’t be another 3 weeks off the road waiting to get into an inspection date.
Sorry for the essay, bit of an intro and a question I guess.
PPS also before I set out and get myself VAG reader**
    Cheers.
