New Member : 9n GTI

Hey all,

First post, my names Aldo, from Melbourne. I'm 21 and just bought my first VW. Picked up a clean white 06 9n GTI. Currently has forge intake hose and pd160 snorkel I believe.

Future mods...plenty lol

Have a forge intercooler sitting a side to go on aswell as r32 mk5 brakes, and am hopping to eventually get an exhaust system and stage 2 ecu.

Hi Aldo, welcome to the world of Polo.

Those brakes will be massive overkill and probably destroy the dynamics of the front end. A much more sensible upgrade would be to S3/TT/4mo 312mm brakes. You need the carriers, calipers and discs.

I had issues fitting them anyways. Rears wouldnt fit, they seemed like they needed to be spaced off the caliper mount on the car. Fronts were ok but i was missing part of the brake line so i didnt put them on. Only reason i was going to use them is i got the set for free with good discs and pads when i bought the car.

Will definately have a read through that thread

Far better to sell them and get something that fits. You really don't need anything that big. The massive weight of the discs would impeded acceleration, all the extra rotational mass isn't great..

S3/TT?4mo rear brakes fit too. You need both the calipers and brackets.

Would it be a pain to get them working on the car if i stayed with them in your opinion?

Got told they were straight bolt on by previous owner, but when i went to do so, rears didnt even line up at all
