Hi and welcome. Can you give me some more info on your Audi Q5 and ill try to offer some advice relating to the P2563 error.

What year was your car built
What engine (engine size as well as whether its diesel or petrol)

But it is likely that this will be the part that you need to replace to fix the P2563 error: 06L145612L - Electronic Wastegate Actuator Motor - Audi A4/A5 B8 & A6/– VAGPARTS Australia

    Hey, thanks for the response.
2015 Audi Q5 2.0 TFSI. I have a tune on it, from Bluefin. About 50bhp more.

I should say, after a minute or so of driving, the orange EPC light comes on.
If in sports mode, the throttle becomes less responsive (like normal mode). But pushing past about 50% throttle, the boost still comes on. Just not as early as normal, but still full power I would say.

Ok I had assumed it was the 2.0L petrol turbo engine, but good to know for sure.

The orange EPC light may be related to your P2563 error, but it also could be related to a misfire which is quite common on the 2.0L petrol turbo engine. You may need to replace the 4x ignition coils and/or the spark plugs in addition to the electronic wastegate actuator which I linked to above. But I believe the electronic wastegate actuator is your main problem and this is why the cars power is less responsive. I would suggest taking your car to a VW/Audi specialist mechanic to be properly diagnosed and then they can fit the required parts to fix the issue.

That is extremely helpful, thanks. Yes, that seems to be what they agree with also.
Both German Auto Dynamics and another near me say they want to replace the turbo as well as the actuator. Is comes as a combined unit, which is easier/safer for them to install. Total cost is around $5k, installed.
Does anyone know if replacing the expected problem part (wastegate actuator) is possible and/or a good idea? Seems it would be a lot cheaper, just needs a dyno?

If that is the problem part, which seems very likely as per Lucas' info above, it is a bolt-on bolt-off job of the actuator as it is only attached to the turbo with a few bolts. I have done 1 myself before, and unless the turbo is done, which seems unlikely, there is no need to spend $5K to fix this. It is plug and play .... though a bit fiddly to get to with the turbo still in place on the motor.

No need for a dyno either. And clearly from the link to VagParts, you can buy just the actuator by itself.

You did not say what mileage the car has though as that will provide some info on what life is left in that turbo.

And finally, I would ditch the Bluefin tune and go with 1 of the other big brands instead.

Thanks Sharkie. 129,000 km. Both mechanics I was speaking to have said a similar car 2014 Q5 had same problem, similar kms also.
What are the suggested big brands? Sorry, bit green in this area.

Update. Car fixed, with just replacing the wastegate actuator. $1k rather than $4k. Thanks so much for all the advice.
