    New Jetta owner from Melbourne

    Hey there,

Just bought my first VW Jetta 103TDI (black), expected delivery end of this week (20/8/10).

Very excited, can't wait for it to come in.

    Congrats, Rob. Welcome!
Let us know how it goes. Is it a DSG transmission or manual?

There are some interesting people and Jettas on this forum.
Bizi's Jetta TDI: Blue Graphite w. factory leather & tint, plus + Enkei Racing NT03+M + Yokohama S Drive 18s, Koni FSD, Neuspeed coils, GTI RSB + brakes, InPro mirrors, VW navi, Modshack. Come for a drive through the twisties on Saturdaze.

Have no plans to modify the jetta, wouldn't even know where to begin! Any recommendations?

    It is a DSG transmission.

First step would be talking to Gavin from Custom Code (User: H100VW) about the DPF Delete and ecu remap.

If that sounds too extreme you can get the Oettinger ecu remap which boosts power to 125kw from memory.

Other than that, you could do an intake setup and aesthetic mods such as the stubby antenna, wheels, suspension, blacked-out body/lights etc.

Sorry,I just noticed your Jetta will be a Black one, great choice.

Mine was Reflex Silver, but if I bought another,it would either be on Graphite Blue or Grey...

I bought mine from South Yarra VW,but used Camberwell to maintain it....

It is replacing an 11 year old Ford Festiva.

Didn't really consider any other cars, the only other car I might have looked at was Honda Accord Euro.

Bought it from Essendon dealership, also looked at Barloworld in Brighton too.

Will definitely post pics when I get it!

For some people,an advantage of the Jetta over the Euro is that there is no diesel option on the Honda locally.

If there was that option,it would be a huge seller for them.
