ACT newbie - maybe back to euro - Audi SQ5 or Mk7 Golf R

    Hi All,

Seems to be some great content and very knowledgeable people in here.
Looking to possibly get back into a euro car, looking at either an Audi SQ5 up to 2015, or Golf R Mk6 or 7 at the moment. All in grey.
From 2009 to 2012 I had a 2000 Audi S4 with Stage 3, very fast and fun car.

    Cheers
    Phil

Welcome to the forum. I always liked the older Audi S4 (B6?? 2.7L V6 turbo) and would have loved to have owned one about 10-15 years ago like you did. Unfortunately they are just too old these days and getting parts for them would not be fun.

Depending on your budget, the 2013-2016 Audi SQ5 is a very solid and reliable choice of car if you need the practicality of a mid-size SUV with a healthy amount of power.

Mk6 R's are getting old now and most have had a pretty hard life. You could get lucky and find one that has been loved & respected, either not modified or only lightly modified, and with sensible km's with full serivce histoty - but make sure its really well checked over for accident damage and signs that it was previously modified.

The Mk7 R' is arguably a safer choice than the Mk6 R if your budget allows, as they are much newer and there are many more around (and lots that are unmodified) so much higher chance of finding a nice one. Also possibly consider one of the special edition Mk7 GTI's (GTI Performance, GTI 40th Edition etc) as these are great fun and arguably more fun to drive than the R models as they are lighter and more nimble.
