    New Golf Alltrack Owner

    Hey VWWatercooled community,

I just purchased a brand new Golf Alltrack in white a few days ago and am thoroughly enjoying it. I'm a long term VW owner, previous car was a 2007 Jetta 2.0L Turbo FSI, which I had from new also.

Have been a long term viewer of this community site and thought it was about time I joined.

    Cheers,
    Jack

    Thanks mrmomoz!

Having a great time in the new car - I cannot believe the technical step-up VW have made from the MK5 I had previously.

    Cheers!

Did you get any extras on your car? [Sports Pack/Drivers Assistance]

Yeah the technological upgrade is amazing.

Yes, I have both the Driver's Assistance and Sports Luxury Packages fitted.

The most dramatic change I can feel compared to my old MK5 is from the addition of the electronic differential - I now feel like I'm driving on rails! And the adaptive cruise control is brilliant!

I had the APR Stage 1 flash on my old 2.0 litre turbo Jetta, am hoping that APR engineer one for the 1.8 litre turbo unit I now have also down the track.

Your APR flashed Golf R must be a rocket ship! 283kW from that 2.0 litre unit is unbelievable!

woo! so you've also got the looks! haha

Yeah gotta love that feeling, knowing you can actually take the corners with knowledge that the car will actually turn!

Wow! Your jetta would have been fun to drive.

Yeah it is, mines a manual and with the intake, they predict 298kw. i need to get the car on the Dyno, to have proper figures.

The acceleration is phenomenal! it picks up speed way to quick now.

I may have dissapointed a GTS Owner, on the weekend. did a rolling run from 60-160 and i had him till about 150. then he passed me.
Proud of my little hatch back. haha

298kWs is insane! I can thoroughly appreciate the satisfaction of knocking off various V8 drivers. One can be very proud indeed.

I certainly put the Jetta through its paces - surprising more than a few drivers off the line.

Stage 1 s3/R doesn't kick lots of asses.
Even Catch up with HSV GTS "one with Yellow W" badge.
Convincing partner to get the alltrack for daily and ecu tune once it available.
Do u think 1.8T is similar to the polo Gti 1.8T?

    Hey jack or other member,
Have u ever taken the alltrack down to beach? Just not too sure if the ground clearance is good enough for soft sand.

    Hey fung9420,

I've been eyeing the development of the 1.8T ecs flash from APR, not sure if it'll work with the Alltrack's 1.8T engine at this stage just yet (mind you, I haven't actually asked APR specifically), but will definitely be following its progress.

Regarding taking the Alltrack to the beach, no I haven't yet, so can't comment on the soft sand clearance. It's certainly capable with clearing loose gravel/mud/dirt etc. All-in-all, I'm loving it. It's one damn competent and quiet car!

    Cheers, Jack
