NEED HELP WITH POLO: traction control light

Hey, i have a 2010 polo 77tsi comfortline.
I have had a constant problem for the last year. My traction control light would turn on, making my car lose all power from the turbo, making it extremely hard to drive with, until i turn my engine off and on, then works fine until the light turns on again.

I took my car to my local mechanic, who charged me $80 just to look at it, then told me he had no clue what was wrong with it. Waste of money and time.
Then took it to volkswagen (when light was on), they charged me $100 to look at it, told me it was due to a spark plug lead backfiring due to hitting something hot in thr engine. Spark plug lead was replaced (another $80ish), but the problem still occurs!

Has anyone else had this problem or know what the problem is?

Sucks that I can't even trust volkswagen dealerships to look at it! Because they obviously failed to diagnose a problem with a volkswagen car.

Seen before...and also caught out only changing one lead..came back next day with another lead down...now always replace all 4 plug leads on the 1.2 TSI in one go ......VDUB...

Thanks, my car has also broken down twice in 4 months (prior to this occurring) involving spark plug leads misfiring or something. Luckily my car was still under warranty then. 2 spark plug leads were replaced then. So had 3 replaced within a year.
would it definitely be a spark plug issue? Or could something else cause it?

There is a technical bulletin relating to this issue getting around now. The ignition coil needs to be checked for corrosion at the lead posts and depending on the production date of the coil, it may require replacing.

So from this point forward, what will be the best thing to do? I know a few mechanics (not necessarily specialising in vw though), and am happy to go to an independent vw mechanic. Dont want to go to vw dealership due to crappy customer service and being ripped off! I'm based in sydney, can you possibly recommend anywhere?
