    MY13 135kW Tiguan O2 sensor bank 1

    Hello all,

I am new to the list and own a Tiguan Pacific MY13. I live in Coffs Harbour and would like some help from fellow list members with a new problem that has arisen.

The Check engine light has come on and my OBD2 reader is telling me:
    Fault code (2243)
    O2 Sensor reference Voltage Circuit/Open bank1 Sensor1

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is it the front or rear O2 sensor?

Any ideas or advice that may assist?

(VW quoted me $460 for a new O2 sensor - sounds pretty pricy?)

I would appreciate your help on this one.

    Thank you

    John Humphrey

I'm guessing the car is out of warranty. You could ask the dealer for goodwill repair... but don't hold your breath as VW is pretty cash strapped these days.

Bank 1, sensor 1 is the front one.
