My third VW is a passat Alltrack and it has a tyre pressure monitor alarm, a stability control alarm and an ASB alarm, it was initially diagnosed, (by a non VW stealer), as the RH rear ABS sensor.
after Changing the said sensor with an NTK equivalent unit as genuine VW unit would be available in 6 months,
there was no data from the sensor during a live data drive test.
subsequently all sensors have been subjected to resistance check and all are showing the same readings and appropriate voltages.
Are there any suggestions as to the next steps
Did you check for bias voltage? I think it should be 12v on one side and 1 - 3v on the other side.
Also, check for damage to the ABS tone ring below the sensor.
The next step would be hooking up a scope to the sensor and checking if the waveform looks correct.

Have you got the part number handy, when my rear sensor went out it was a ATE part number.
