My first GTI

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ash, i'm from Sydney and I've previously owned a Jap and an Aussie car - making the decision to purchase a GTI was a pretty different move compared to the cars I've owned before and let me just say that I am loving it!

It all started for me back in 2013 when I started to notice these things on the road and decided to take one for a test drive (to my surprise the guy from the Volkswagen dealer let me take it by myself) and after that test drive i just had to have one. I wasn't ready to immediately rush out and purchase one at that point - it took a lot of patience on my part. I ended purchasing my car back on Easter of 2014, it had 9,300kms and I believe Volkswagen referred to it as a "Volkswagen Executive Driven Vehicle", it was good to know that I am the first owner - and it has been an awesome car so far.

I've got a 2012 MY13 MK6 Golf GTI, CSG in colour with DSG, sunroof, park assit, rear vision camera, RNS510 and leather.

I always understood the following that the Jap cars and Aussie cars had (typically as everyone who had one automatically wanted to race you whenever they pulled up next to you), however it was to my surprise to realise the huge following these cars and other Volkswagens have here at home. There has been so many instances of other GTI/R owners from really different walks of life and ages etc come up and talk to me about my car. It's taken me some time but I've now decided to get amongst the midst of it all and look to learn from other like minded people.

Anyway that is my obligatory newbie post, hope to meet as many of you as possible be it online or at a meet.
