    Mk3 Golf VR6 Kit

i just bought a nice VR6 and for a little car i'm rather impressed with its power. but i still want to squeeze some more out of it, just wondering what would be best for me to do to it, i was thinking a racing exhaust system, cold air intake and maybe working on the cams a little for starters, but what i really want is a supercharger/Turbo kit. What kits are available for this car and what am i best off getting? any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going down that path with my VR - I'm building it first then supercharging later, haven't decided on a kit yet...
Have a look on the net because there is a lot of good stuff out there - if you get stuck PM me.

Welcome and can't wait for you to start your build thread
I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

Cool to see another Mk3 person here in Melbourne.

With the VR engine a cat back exhaust and CAI is the way to go.

Getting power NA from the 2.8 can be a mission. The VR gearbox has a huge final drive so reducing final drive will get your power down and make the VR accelerate heaps quicker.

Cat back and CAI it is then.
although there is a minor problem with my air intake, the little valve that reburns exhaust gasses is broken if i buy a CAI kit would that include the whole air intake system of just parts?

Just get a breather filter or oil catch can for your PCV. It's not crucial...

    will have pics up soon,
just wondering where would be the best place to buy CAI and catback exhaust systems without setting myself back too much?

and water boy i see what you mean about a huge final drive, not really appropriate for AUS roads would be more useful to have shorter ratios, but i'm not sure how hard that would be, isn't transmission work on these rather complicated?

    cheers

Finally was bothered to grab some pics of the VR6, unfortunately last night some school kids thought it would be funny to flower bomb my car which has eaten the paint and now i got nasty spots on the roof where the paint has peeled . sorry but not sure how to resize images

looks nice, pitty about the paint :/

Are you allowed to boost it on P-plates down there?

I know there are full kits you can get to either turbo or sc the vr6, kinetic springs to mind for turbo, but being for american cars I'm assuming there could be problems fitting things in a rhd car. And I'm not sure weather chips ect from the usa work in the aus cars, I've read so many different things and just get more confused everytime I search. Im sure people on here will be able to help though, maybe post a little something in the mk3 section.

    Oh and lower it haha
