Melb R36 Search

Hi guys

I've had my eyes opened to the R36 wagon and wanted to join up to absorb some info to help with an eventual purchase.

I love quick wagons, have owned a Nissan Stagea RS4S with bolt-on mods in the past and loved having a bit of 'go' underfoot without sacrificing any practicality. Most recently had a BMW X5 which had plenty of practicality, but not a lot of go, so I spent quite a few bucks on ECU tune, Bilstein suspension, Eibach springs and swaybars and other handling mods before giving up and realising that a 2+ tonne car is never going to be an exciting drive, and that the only thing going fast was my bank balance.

I need something that can fit a dog in the back, and potentially a screaming baby and associated paraphernalia.

Had been looking at a BMW 335i Touring but they're few and far between, probably even more of a maintenance pig than the X5, and quite tight in the rear

The R36 seems to be a lot of bang for buck and a bit more usable space, with the bonus of the sweet DSG and AWD.

I'll be looking to make a move on something in the second half of this year, so for now, just here to learn.

There are still some very nice R36s out there, you just need to be prepared to be patient until the right one comes along for you.
