I purchased my first VW - a diesel Tiguan - a few weeks back and love it. I was a motoring writer for many years, and it's big brother - the twin-turbo V10 diesel Tourag - was the best car I ever drove in around 15 years of road testing. Shame they don't sell it - or even make it - any more, so the Tiguan will suffice for now.
Have already noticed that if I want want to get something done on it by the dealer it costs an arm and a leg. Will need to find a "tame" mechanic in the not too distant future.
Taking it away on our first real road trip in a week or two on a wine-buying exercise in the Clare Valley.

Congrats on the purchase. Is that one of the new 130TDI's or a second-hand 103TDI?
There's a couple of non-dealer mechanics around Adelaide. Depending on what you need done MRL Automotive, German Auto, AVW are workshops/mechanics I've used. There's a few others like Volksfactory in Holden Hill.
