Welcome to VW WaterCooled!
I think you may be better off posting in the Mk5 Golf section for this issue specifically; I've not heard about that happening on an Octavia - and there are not many Mk2 TFSI's getting around on here!
Good luck!
I am new here and I own a 2007 mk. 2 Skoda Octavia RS manual which I bought second hand after having owned a Mk 5 Golf Sportline 2 litre FSI manual from new which won me as a VW fan. My Skoda is basically a Mk. 5 Golf GTI with a different body and is made in the Czech republic.
I am having some problems with the engine cover which was loose when I bought it and had the top removed from the oil filler cap. I had this rectified by Trivett Skoda who replaced 2 of the buffers and 3 mounting studs (ball joints) at about 50,000ks.
I have since relaced oil filler caps 3 times and the cover is loose again and moves around and takes the top off the oil filler caps. I have now done only 66,000 ks
On inspection, I found the the engine cover is broken all around the mounting holes and all 4 buffers have disappeared.
I have bought a second hand cover on Ebay and new buffers to replace the broken one. I noticed on the picture on the Ebay ad that the top of the oil filler cap was missing. On checking Ozskoda forum there was no mention of anything related to engine cover problems.
Is this a problem with Golf GTIs ?
