Hi guys,
I bought my Mk6 GTi with 80,000km on the clock. I did keep in mind that there will be some issues here and there. Im only 18 so my knowledge isn't the best but I am a keen learner.
A couple of weeks ago I got a solid CEL light. Went and got it scanned;
P2015 - Intake Manifold Position Sensor (Bank 1) - MIL ON
Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Freeze:
- RPM: 1496
- Load: 60.4%
Car was running fine in my eyes when the light came on. (No misfiring of the sort, occasional rough idle on start up, but i assumed it was usual as cars normally run rich on cold start ups). As a result, the mechanics replaced the actuator solenoid, the sensor, and did a walnut blast. Unfortunately, the CEL remained on. They now believe it is the flap in which, when closed it returns to a -1 position rather than 0. Thus throwing the CEL. Suggested I should now pay for a whole new manifold - pretty annoyed on my end.
Reason I was posting on here was if there was any other options I can go around this. Can I do a flap delete? Would that do anything? Also is this dangerous to drive around with? I've been told its not that bad, rather I just would get worse fuel economy.
If I was to replace the manifold, is there any recommendations on part sellers online or local in Sydney? Rather not pay a premium price for something I can get cheaper if it's out there.
Thank you
Look forward to any replies.
