Welcome to DSG world! Afaik all dsgs behave this way.
Welcome to the forum too!
Hi there,
On Saturday, 16/06/2012, I picked up my new Polo GTI (MY12.5) in Flash Red, with Bi-Xenons and Alcantara/Leatherette seats. I also got all windows (except for the windscreen of course) tinted with the darkest legal black tint.
I thought I would register here as I am curious about all stuff Polo GTI
If you don't mind me asking a question straight away:
Does anybody here with a Polo GTI experience a delay between pressing the accelerator and take-off?
I found it's particularly bad when gearbox is in D, but it is even noticeable in S and semi-auto. The car shudders a bit as if a driving novice was torturing the clutch and not pressing the accelerator hard enough.
Any thoughts?
Thanks and nice to meet you all!

Thanks! Meaning that there is no point speaking about this with the dealer/the dealer's mechanic?

That's right.
See here: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=dsg+hesitation
It affects all VAG DSG gearboxes.
Ok sorry... that's not entirely true. All DSG's hesitate, but some longer than others. There is a particular threshold where VW will do a DSG reset. I highly doubt yours is one of them. Even if they do a reset, it won't completely take away the hesitation, it may just shorten it (again, only if yours is hesitating longer than usual).
The simple answer is, there is no fix. And it's one of those "it's not a bug, it's a feature" kind of things that the fanboys will tell you.

Thanks for the explanation! I will speak to the dealer's service manager and see what they can do next Friday, that's when I made the appointment.
