Red face Hi all! Time to Join the Forum World

After much of my time has been spent scrolling the pages of the GTI/VW Forums I have finally bit the bullet and decided Id register!

*This was totally fueled by the toxic environment of GTI and R Australia (and state) facebook pages which generally consist of "Where can I get a res delete" "Show us your crackle maps, bro"

So here i am. Looking forward to learning more and contributing sometimes too.

**EDIT - Oh and a little bit about my ride...

'07 MK5 GTI DSG 2dr Candy White, OEM Cadiz 7R wheels, DBA T3's all round, Neuspeed Intake, 200cell Catted DP, GFB DV+, 034 Motorsport Billet Torque Arm Insert and some other things I have most likely forgotten

    Peace.

Welcome fellow newbie, and queensland golf enthusiast
Sounds like we both had the same idea of finally joining the forum haha

Sounds like you have a few tasteful mods to your GTI
And by the sounds of it I think I'm glad I never delved into the *shudders* facebook pages hahaha

Have any pictures of your beast?

Curiosity question - I'm currently running T2's on the front, and was wondering if you have run them in past and what your thoughts are in comparison of the two?

    Hi Connor!

Yes, the facebook pages are literal trash. I was an admin of the Brisbane one and have since drifted away silently because of the current problems occuring (it does genuinely make you shiver lol)

Here's a pic of my car although I did do some quick photoshop at one point to give it slight 'e-fame'. (DW I will never bag it lol)
This pic is months old and a fair few things have changed on the car.

    Enjoy nonetheless!

Oh and I never ran the T2's heard they are still very good. However, I believe Pads make the biggest difference along with fluid spec and braided lines. I previously ran RDA slotted/dimpled rotors coupled with bremtec euroline pads which the T3's and Basic Remsa pads that I have now proverbially sh*t on!!

Mhmm sounds like it, I like to generally try and avoid facebook whenever I can haha... I still have it though -.-

I'll be completely honest and say that I'm not entirely against bags. That being said I wouldn't like to have them on my daily driver, but golf's do look quite awesome completely slammed hahah I'd like to see what mine looks like slammed, but I wouldn't like to drive it on the roads I do with bags haha
Your car does look very good. I like it alot
If your ever up the sunshine coast way... golf day? Hahaha

Yes good fluid and braided lines would be a nice little mod, although currently I'm still under warranty so I'll just sit and wait haha
I heard some disturbing things about RDA years ago so I've never actually used them.
Have been using DBA for years now (when needing brakes, if I keep a car long enough that is. To date the GTI is the car I have had the longest ) I've had drilled and slotted previously but apparently *according to the brake man* drilled doesnt make a difference. I'm not sure how I feel about that answer, but slotted brakes are definately the way to go haha.
I may have to give these Remsa pads a try, currently running bendix, fairly decent and dont seem to wear as quick as the old EBC ones I ran years ago lol.
How much of an improvement did you notice upgrading the rear as opposed to only slightly upgrading the front? If you didnt go all out and do all 4 at once that is hahaha Hi all! Time to Join the Forum World
