Hi All New Golf MkIV 1.6sr with DUU box

HI All,

New member here based on the Gold Coast, who just got a mk4 golf running the 1.6sr (AKL) Engine with the DUU gearbox (02k I do believe) as a new daily driver so I can take my BMW e46 330ci coupe off the road for a little while, do some mods and have some fun with it.

Golf is pretty good little car, got it cheap out of a wholesaler from Sydney. Needed new window switches, new power mirror switch, and it will need new front door trims as they are just busted around the cloth inserts which looks like the melted plastic tabs are broken off.

Runs well other than dodgy shifting. Got a couple of new bushes arrived today from ECS that I am hoping will take out some slop from the shifter, as looking down at the shift weight I can see the bushes at either end of the weighted bridge are perished and cracking and falling away.

Looking to put a stereo in, and add remote locking (has door actuators as they all lock from the key on the drivers door (although that barrel is a different key to passenger and ignition, so may swap them around) and just some tint and I will drive it daily and save a bit on petrol while working on the bimmer.

Have you done your shifter bushes ? did they help any ?
