For complete peace of mind,I would rather buy Honda,Mazda,or Toyota.
Hi all,
I've joined this forum because I'm interested in buying a Passat diesel. My only hesitation is the fact that German cars can get expensive to maintain after the warranty period. Does anyone have any comments to make regarding this concern?
Thanks,

Welcome. Loads of help on here.

Any car will be costly for fix after warranty gone. I have cr tdi passat 2009 and since new i replaced only accu. I retro fitted rns-510 p edition and bluettlooth 9w7. I got part cheap from poland. Fitting done by vw service and cost me 300$. Normal service cost me 350-400$, timing belt change was 800$ and that all...be sure you got cr tdi because they do not have issue with injectors like pd engine. Overall, i am very happy with car and would not go for toyota, mazda etc at all...

Just don't go to VW. Find a Euro mechanic and it is half the price.
