Hey Peeps, from NSW
Hey all.
The time has come for me to get myself another car to get to work.
Currently driving about 900km per week, going between Wollongong and Sydney CBD, and my currently ride which is a Hyundai Elantra, whilst is a good and reliable car, with pretty much only me in the car, I wish to downsize.... Which brings me here.
Been trawling through Carsales for the last couple of months, looking at everything from Mazda 2's, Toyota Yaris, to Skoda Fabias, and of course Polos and Golfs.
Due to the Km's driven, a Turbo Diesel is high on the cards, all though even some of the smaller Petrol Turbos seem to be pretty good as well.
Then there is the decision of transmission. Anyone who knows Sydney traffic, understands the preference for an Auto, but the stories of DSG's failing, and their expense has me leaning towards "Leg Day" and getting a manual.
Oh, not to mention a budget of about $13k, it makes the decision that little bit harder.
Hmmm.... Decisions, Decisions.
Anyways, thanks in advance to anyone who responds, and I'll look around at a few threads, and see if it makes my decision any easier.
Cheers everyone.

Might be a bit of a stretch with your budget but what about a GTD (MK6)? Looking on car sales they start about 13k. Otherwise you might be able to pickup standard spec MK7 TDI
I guess you need to weigh up if you want an older model with more options or a newer with less to fit your budget.

Well, instead of stretching my Budget, I went the opposite way, and picked up a 2015 Polo 66tsi Trendline.
Not quite what I was after, but for the price I was offered, I couldn't refuse.
So far, so good, with the 3 times I have had to fill the tank, it returned just on 5l/100, so pretty happy with that.
2 things I'm a bit curious with though..
1. I currently have this headunit in the car...
I have since found out that from MY16, the headunit had Android Auto support.
If I can get my hands on a later model Headunit, can it simply Plug and Play to give me Android Auto?
I suppose I could then connect a Reverse Camera as well?
What about this one? From a MY16?
2. Can the screen on the dash show anything else whilst driving apart from ambient temp? Distance to Empty would be handy.
Thanks in advance everyone..
