    Hey, MK1 type.

Hey guys, have been a member of the forum on and off for a little while. Precious history with Volkswagens, and dailying the most boring of them all, the ever reliable mk5 fsi.

Young family, so moneys inconsistent however for once it looks like I might be able to get that fun car, and I'm keen on a 2dr MK1.

    Cheers,
    Remy

If you don't mind doing lots of work on one give Nick at Volksparts a call - 0412 345 126

He had a couple of complete cars a few months ago.

Keep us posted. There's a few of us in Canberra (or close by) that are working on our MK1's and we meet occasionally to talk old Golfs if you're interested in coming along.

    Cheers

Great to see another Canberran around. Good luck with what should be an interesting and fun car to play around with.

I have a mk1 and will be visiting your area soon. When do you get together in that area?

When will you be down here?

Hi guys, finally ended up getting a mk1. Ended up with a clipper kit 1990 cab, keen to debumper it. I know a lot of people prefer them be kept bumpers intact but growing up perusing Performance VW, the small bumper look is what I've come to want after.
Bought for $1750 in good nick, I've spent a little getting it up to roadworthy and I'm loving it.
Keen to get started on bumpers soon, then I'll sort the interior and possibly suspension. The 1.8 really keeps up well and hanging for summer to drop the top down haha.
    Cheers
