    Hello from Melbourne, Vic

    Hiya,

Recently purchased a VW T5 2004 TDi AXB model. Already having turbo issues - the van runs efficienctly but I am having exhaust gases make their way into the cabin.

Love the van and don't want to get rid of it but not keen to spend heaps of cash on it either.

    Hi Chris, and welcome.
First thoughts that come to mind are the exhaust manifold gasket, turbo gasket (from rear housing to downpipe) also I'm thinking you may have an EGR, any leaks from any of these main areas could cause the gases to make their way until the cabin. Also could be as small as an exhaust gasket is failing, I'm not too sure where you may have a gasket on the exhaust but it could be as simple as a $9 part.
Have you noticed the vehicle but mainly the exhaust note become louder?
You could also look around all the main parts of the exhaust and EGR ect. And if the area is fairly clean you may see basically unfiltered exhaust gas residue. Basically black soot around some joints or gasket areas.

Also is this petrol or diesel? I dont have much experience with vans let alone VW vans, but an engine is an engine
