Golf GTi mkiv
Hi all
Introducing myself and the car.
I've had the 2003 Golf 1.8T for 7 years and it only has 85K on the clock. Kept her stock all this time. Just can't beat the level of comfort and reliability you get out of these cars. Maybe I've been lucky.
Have thought about upgrading her at times, but I always come back to a few simple reason to keep her - the mkiv is so simple to work on, parts are a plenty and there is lots of information available about them - and they still are a comfortable drive.
She's a great daily drive, but is really lacking grunt on the track days. So, the plan is to install a stage 1 (or 2) clutch kit, turbo back 3" system, hi-flow airs, custom code tune, intercooler, suspension refresh (bushes and coilovers).
I'm no mechanic, but with the haynes manual and the forum I hope to do most of the work. I'll have to rely on a good mobile mechanic where needed.
Thanks
Vance
