Hi All,

Recent purchase of an 06 9n3 Polo GTI has lead me here - what a great resource. Spent the last couple of days or so reading Gavin's cheap but not so cheap build thread - all 70 odd pages of it with great interest...has me inspired to tinker with mine Nothing major, but certainly keen to liberate some ponies from the old mill, even if it has done 220,000Kms!

Other cars in my stable at the moment...BMW E61 530i Motorsport - lovely car but just overkill and a bit of a yawn for the round town driving I tend to do, hence the Polo. Also restoring a 74 Datsun S30 - there's a long way to go on that one, so it gets referred to as my retirement project, even if that's at least 30 years away!

Anyways, plenty of work to do on the Polo, so I'll be busy here!

Hey, Welcome to the forum. I am in Queenstown for a week from next monday. Will be bringing my laptop anyway but can always bring the flash cable too. If you are interested in Phase 1, I can do that by post

Thanks Gavin. Wrong island for me unfortunately, although I wouldn't mind an excuse to go to Queenstown! Absolutely interested in Phase 1...have been looking into Custom Code etc and will be in touch with regards that when the time comes! There are some pressing maintenance issues that need my wallet's attention first, namely 4 tyres, front discs, dreaded cambelt change, some knocking at the front somewhere (probably suspension bushes) and the CEL is on, which vag-com says is "the" lambda/oxygen sensor but the local VW dealer says there are two... Anyways, I'll go looking in the appropriate forum for answers on that one.
