Good evening.
I was looking for some advice concerning problems with the key to my Seat and found your forum very helpful.
Maybe you won't find many Seats Down Under, but they are quite popular in Europe. But not with me at the moment.
I used to live in Sydney some 40 years ago and owned a few Veedubs during the years of my staying in Australia. Personal matters forced me to leave your wonderful country, otherwise I would have stayed.
Anyway - Saturday night the Seat would start and then immediately shut off. This went on and I had to leave it there. the next day I could start and drive the car with the spare key, but not with the remote-key.
So I surfed the net and found a lot of interesting stuff about transponders and ways to make your own key.
First of all I suppose I have to check if it's possible to reset the key - may it's just a bit tired and needs a solid kick in the ass?
If ass-kicking is no good, next step is to put a new transponder in key?
Where do I find the transponder - in the front end of the key?
My SEAT is A Toledo 5P 2007 with a 1,9 TDI 105 hp motor.
Thanks all.
Cheers
Jens

Hello franne(Jens),
Good to hear from you. I owned a '94 Toledo,2E engine, for nearly 14 years and apart from some odd problems enjoyed the experience. Always drove well on the road and had 260K on it when I sold it last Feb. I might just state the obvious, but I assume the battery in your remote is good and the battery contacts. You probably have it sorted by now. Cheers
