Expecting my Golf R Wagon to surface soon

Hi all, I'm expecting my Golf R Wagon to surface soon. This will be my first European made car and hold high hopes for it. Guess I've got a good friend of mine to blame. He's been a long time car fanatic and current Golf R owner. When I told him I was in the market for a new car and asked him what his top 3 cars he'd recommend his answer was, Golf GTI, Golf GTI + Performance Pack and Golf R! So when my local dealership were taking pre-orders for the Golf R Wagon I got in quick. This will also be my first performance car. So am a little nervous about having a car that has some grunt ( currently got an Hyundai i30 ). I was never been into cars when I was younger, unlike my friends. Guess having no money when I was studying lowers your expectations. I was just used to taking the bus to Uni I guess. Any how, I'm now looking forward to my Golf R Wagon!

To be honest, I'm a little apprehensive and wonder if I'll get the enjoyment from having such a powerful vehicle for my daily commute. I'm a mild mannered person which is reflected in my driving. Though given a nice bit of country road I enjoy the twists and turns, even in a lesser car. So it's the Sunday drives has motivated me, and that I'm not getting any younger!

It will drive like any other poverty spec golf everyday and can be your toy for the weekend when you put your foot down ..

Personally I have a Polo GTi as my daily commute and have a Lotus Elise for my weekend drives.... My wife drives her Audi S3 daily and ironically came from an i30 and she is a calm driver and says it drives no different to the i30 on a daily basis.. That is untill she seta the car to Dynamic and puts her foot down....

    Hey dib dob.

I have had my skoda octavia RS for a bit over a year now. Before buying i was really hoping for the golf r wagon but at the time they only released the wagon r as a style pack.
I'm super jealous, as that was my dream wagon. Very happy with the skoda though. It's probably the equivalent of the golf gti in sedan and wagon form.

    Enjoy.
