DSG gearbox rebiuld service, QLD Australia.

Just want to introduce myself, I rebuild DSG boxes (only the 02E 6 speed)
I have repaired boxes that have a noisy bearing issue. If you have a car with the 02E 6 speed gearbox with noisy bearings I can change them. Cost is considerably cheaper than the dealer! I order the bearings from UK so there is a lead time there for that. (can be sent in 4 days express for 40pounds)
I have a RossTech vagcom scanner too so we can interpret any error codes and even analyse the gearbox's caibrations on the road.
If your car has noisy bearings and still drives ok I recommend you FIX IT ASAP! It will fail very soon and cost you much more. Just changing the oil and filter will do nothing. If the swarf from the bearings ruins the sensors and electro wheels and gets into your valve body its screwed. I do good work and don't give people nasty suprises, I keep the customer informed always.
Cost is 2000 if you bring the gearbox to me. I will pay for parts out of that. ( I wont charge you any extra)

If there is extra work required due to a fault that is uncovered as a result of repairing your box this may be charged extra which will be discussed and negotiated at the time of the faults' discovery.
VW quoted me 8000 au for a new box changed in my 2006 GTI. I said no thanks. So I educated and skilled myself up and now can do this work myself. I enjoy working on the 02E gearbox its actually a good unit, I think VW didn't put them together very well. Many bearings fail earlier than they should, not the quality of the bearing at fault, more probably the assembly at the factory. A large roller bearing on the end of a twin input shaft, should last longer than only 112k kms (my cars' case) I suspect guys hammered them on with a hammer in the factory rather than press them on properly Like I do.
If you want to see my work you are welcome to inspect my GTI. It drives like a new car.
If yours is playing up, shifting weird or clunking, it may be due to contamination by a collapsed bearing. If the mechatronic is ok, I can still help you. If the mechatronic is FAULTY it must be replaced. I can replace it but I can not repair the mechatronic. I can change the mechatronic without removing the gearbox from the car. I have heard the mechatronic brand new will cost you around 800. If you need a new mechatronic this can be fitted at no extra cost if you are getting a rebuild. If you only want to change the mechatronic, I can do this but it will cost 400 in labour, and if you only change the mechatronic I must warn you that it may uncover extra work that is required. Often removing this unit shows up much metal swarf which indicates worn and busted bearings that must be replaced. So obviously, if only the mechatronic is being changed, this work is done completely at your own risk and no guarantee could possibly be given.

Anyway, Just wanted to put that out there, I am sure there is probably some DSG owners out there who are driving around in a car with a 6 speed with issues, and I may be able to help you out.
Drop me an email with your phone number.

    Cheers.
