Hi guys,

Recently came from the Jap scene so am pretty new to Euro cars let alone Golf's and I must say i'm loving it! I recently picked up a stock manual 2012 mk6 GTI with 70k on the clock including sunroof, leather interior etc. As I'm on a uni budget the build will be slow but am excited on whats going to happen in the future.

The main difference I see from these two scenes is definitely the community base- There is a lot of groups concerning builds of the Jap scene but in no way close to the strong knitted approach I have come across from the vwgolf site and other various blog sites so I thank you guys for the help you have given me so far with such ease!

To the build;

Was excited to get this delivered but then realised how crap the fitment quality of it was. I ended up cutting tabs, drilling out parts to get it to fit but now it's ended up in my garage probably going in the bin soon- I've decided to get the rear diffuser dipped.

Ordered a Podi gauge and was very happy with the ease of contact and fast shipping! (pic when it wasn't wired up)

I then ordered some SPM springs. I found the body roll in the stock springs quite annoying when going around corners at a decent speed and felt I was losing a bit of traction in the inside tyres. As I recently bought a full set of Pirelli P ZERO's I wanted to make the most of them. After the install I definitely felt a more solid ride- not too much stiffer but noticeably less body roll and traction and for the price was stoked. They're sitting on stock shocks at the moment but they'll hopefully be replaced soon.

As for other Suspension parts I'm hoping to get some upgraded sway bars to stiffen up the rear a bit.

You can see an article I wrote here with more details about it

I then gave a full detail which took up a whole day and installed some Golf R rear lights which I'm pretty happy with.

Big plans ahead for the build- Only been a month or so but definitely a lot to look forward to!
